studio etiquette・スタジオエチケット
A gentle reminder to help protect Kintsugi Pilates’ peaceful space, energy, and safety for everyone.
01. Contacting Us
Kintsugi Pilates is a one-on-one studio, which means instructors are usually in session throughout the day.
Because of this, we may not be able to respond immediately to messages on LINE, Instagram, or email.
We will reply as soon as we step out of session.
Thank you for understanding the calm energy we create and maintain for every person who enters our studio.
02. Arrival Etiquette
To honour the flow of all appointments:
-
Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your session.
-
We operate back-to-back, and early arrival may interrupt another client’s private time.
-
You may use this time to change or stretch quietly.
03. Cleanliness & Consideration
As we work closely with bodies, equipment, and shared surfaces, we kindly ask for your cooperation in keeping our studio comfortable and hygienic for everyone.
Personal Hygiene
Please arrive clean, especially if you have come from the gym or a very active day.
We sanitize equipment between every session, but personal cleanliness helps maintain a pleasant atmosphere for all.
Feet, Hands & Skin Conditions
If you notice athlete’s foot, peeling skin, warts, rashes, or any contagious condition on your hands or feet,
please wear socks and/or gym gloves during your session.
We sanitize rigorously, but shared responsibility keeps both clients and instructors safe.
Body Products, Sunscreen & Makeup
To protect our equipment and maintain studio hygiene:
-
Please avoid applying sunscreen, oils, lotions, or body creams immediately before your session, as residue can transfer onto the equipment.
-
If you wear makeup, please be mindful of contact with the headrest or pads.
Bringing your own face towel is recommended and appreciated.
These small steps help us keep the equipment clean, safe, and in excellent condition for all clients.
Pet Hair
For clients with pets:
Please check your clothing for pet hair before arriving, or feel free to use our lint roller.
This helps us keep the space comfortable for clients with allergies.
Voice Level
We aim to maintain a quiet, grounding environment.
Please keep conversations at a moderate volume to support a peaceful space for everyone.
04. Health Precautions
To maintain a safe environment, please do not attend your session if you have:
-
Fever
-
Cold symptoms
-
Stomach virus
-
Flu-like symptoms
-
Any contagious condition
Pilates when ill can worsen symptoms and increase the risk of spreading germs in a one-on-one studio.

07. Running Late
Because we run sessions back-to-back:
-
We will try our best to offer your full session time
-
However, this cannot always be guaranteed
-
Your session may be shortened out of fairness to the next client
If you know you are running late, a quick message is greatly appreciated.
08. Pain, Injuries & Diagnoses
Pilates instructors at Kintsugi are not medical professionals and cannot diagnose medical conditions.
For chronic pain, scoliosis, or structural issues, we are happy to work with you in collaboration with your:
-
Chiropractor
-
Physical therapist
-
Doctor
-
Osteopath
Our role is to guide safe, supportive movement — not to provide medical diagnosis.
